In our decades’ long battle to restore lake clarity, it turns out that our furry best friends just might be the key to saving Lake Tahoe…

Our Mission
Our goal is to reverse Lake Tahoe's declining water clarity and promote its native ecosystem. To do this, we're inviting communities (of humans and pets) to help remove tiny, invasive Mysis shrimp from the lake and turn them into delicious pet treats. These invasive Mysis are surprisingly nutritious, and make for a unique alternative protein. We are looking for community collaboration and donations to launch this project.

Ingredients you can trust
Mysis shrimp are incredibly nutritious and full of protein and healthy fats. Dehydrated Mysis have 70mg of Omega-3 per gram, which is much more than salmon or krill. Our dog treats are packed with Omega-3s to promote a shinier coat, healthier skin, and reduced joint discomfort. Along with Mysis, we’re adding all-natural ingredients like sweet potato, flaxseed, and garbanzo flour to make our treats extra digestible and tasty for your pup. Our Mysis shrimp dog treats are a pure source of Omega-3s that restores the Tahoe ecosystem with every bite.

A project like this requires diverse skillsets, and thanks to our proximity to UC Davis – one of the nation’s top research institutes – we’ve put together a truly interdisciplinary team at both our board and staff levels.
Our board of directors combine their love of Tahoe, dogs, and novel solutions to guide Shrimply Blue forward.
